last week we hosted thanksgiving here in the netherlands. which was no easy feat. we ordered a turkey too big to fit in our oven (thank you to the kind butcher to roasted it at the shop), we (matt) broke plates days before the event, we (i) burnt pumpkin soup over and over again. but in the end, it was a thanksgiving never to forget!
everyone was giddy with excitement about attending an american feast and we did our best to explain the traditions. during dinner, i sat there, in the middle of a candlelit table of 16 and thought about how surreal the night was. how lucky i am to be spending it with such amazing people. thank you.
i want to mention my aunt and my mom who (virtually) held my hand through this entire process. from sending me recipes to answering text messages about stuffing in the middle of the night. thank you.
to esra for reading my mind the entire day (and week before), for running out to grab last minute groceries, and for gladly helping me with anything and everything. you held on tight to my sanity. and i am forever grateful. and for the beautiful photos!
and lastly to matt, who put up with my snarky bullshit. ;)
